Dina Meyer was born in Forest Hills, Queens, New York, but moved to Dix Hills, Long Island shortly before the end of her final term of junior high. Her brothers include Gregory, her older brother and Evan. She started her career in entertainment when she was nine and was modeling. Ron Stetson was her teacher at The Neighborhood Playhouse where she began studying Sanford Meisner's acting methods for about three years. Sandra Bullock received similar training as did Michael Douglas and Jeff Goldblum. Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton are also amongst those actors who've received this type of training. The actress was a part of Beverly Hills in 90210, but had relocate from Los Angeles to take the part. In the next couple of months, she was offered the role in the role of Johnny Mnemonic. For this film, she was the one responsible for nearly all stunts and demonstrated herself as an accomplished actor. Her agent also manages Matt LeBlanc she scored a part as a guest on Friends.
